For those who haven’t seen it yet Wake Up, Freak Out – then Get a Grip is a short animated film about climate change by Leo Murray.
Take 10 minutes out to watch the film. It will shake you up but will hopefully motivate you to start making the changes we all need to make if we are to pull the planet back from the brink.
Get the message?
In case you missed it, or didn’t watch the film through, the message here is that we CAN avoid the tipping point if we CONSUME LESS and take personal responsibility for our actions.
Act now!
The time for action is NOW – not tomorrow, next week or next year – for the sake of all life on the planet and for future generations. We can bypass government inertia and challenge the corporate powers that encourage us to consume more by acting collectively.
Tell us what you think
We’d love to hear your views on the film. Did it motivate you to do more? Can we avoid the tipping point? Read what others have said and join the debate by leaving your comments below.

Although it’s quite alarming it does emphasize the urgency of doing something now. I consume less by not driving or owning a car and I shop for secondhand stuff as much as I can (you have to on a student grant!). I also try to reduce the amount of waste I create and recycle what I can.
Katy: It sounds like you’re doing alot to reduce your consumption and waste. I’m with you all the way – as, I’m sure, are many of our readers ;-)
Peter: You’re right to “question the science” behind the claims made in the film. There’s a full transcript of the text, on the film-maker’s site, linked to the supporting evidence.
A powerful piece of propaganda for the environmental movement but I’d question the science behind it.
